Most wedding venues do not have a day job. Wild Canary does: a botanical bistro in the tropical grounds of Brookfield Gardens, with a kitchen garden that feeds the restaurant and the weddings alike. Only one wedding is hosted at a time, and the packages are genuinely all-inclusive, with venue hire, furniture, tableware and the cake already accounted for in the price rather than added later.
Vows are said beneath the canopy of the big fig tree in the manicured gardens. The arbour, ceremony chairs, signing table, jute runner and full set-up and pack-down are included, as are rehearsal access and a wet-weather alternative. Guests then spill onto The Lawn for canapes and drinks before moving into The Marquee, a clear structure with warm fairy lights lining the ceiling, seating 120 or holding 130 for cocktails. Smaller midweek lunches run in the bistro. Ceremonies are only available alongside a reception package, so this is not a venue to book for the ceremony alone.
The kitchen cooks on site, driven by the seasons and local farmers, and a bespoke Wild Canary wedding cake is part of the deal. Beverages run five hours on the full package or four on the micro version. A dedicated coordinator supports the planning and the day, and exclusive use brings white linen, cutlery, crockery and glassware, cake and gift tables, easels, a PA with wireless microphone, security, parking and a private bridal room. There is no accommodation on site. Wild Canary holds 4.4 from more than 1,000 Google reviews and runs its own blog.
