Wild Canary is a working botanical bistro set in the tropical grounds of Brookfield Gardens, with a kitchen garden that feeds the restaurant and the weddings alike. Only one wedding is hosted at a time, and the venue is given over entirely to it. Vows are exchanged beneath the canopy of the big fig tree in the manicured gardens, with the arbour, ceremony chairs, signing table, jute runner and full set-up and pack-down provided, along with rehearsal access and a wet-weather alternative.
The venue accommodates up to 130 guests. The Marquee is the main reception space, a clear structure with warm fairy lights lining the ceiling, seating 120 for dinner or holding 130 for a cocktail reception. Between the ceremony and dinner, guests move onto The Lawn for canapes and drinks, and the bistro itself hosts small seated lunches as the venue’s smallest midweek package. Ceremonies are only available with a reception package, so the venue is booked as a whole celebration rather than for the ceremony alone.
The packages are genuinely all-inclusive. A plated or cocktail menu is cooked on site, driven by the seasons and local farmers, and a bespoke Wild Canary wedding cake is part of the arrangement, alongside a five hour standard beverage package on the full wedding package or four hours on the micro version. A dedicated coordinator supports the planning and the day itself, and exclusive use brings white linen, cutlery, crockery and glassware, cake and gift tables, easels, a PA with wireless microphone, security, parking and a private bridal room. There is no accommodation on site. The combination of garden ceremonies, produce-driven cooking and packages that cover the detail makes Wild Canary Botanical Bistro an outstanding garden wedding venue.
