The Bearded Dragon Hotel is a country hotel first, which is precisely what makes it work as a wedding venue. Ceremony, reception, dining and beds all sit on the one site in the Gold Coast Hinterland, spread across 110 acres of farm and bushland. Ceremonies are held outdoors across three settings: Hidden Creekside places the couple beside the water, In the Garden keeps things close to the buildings, and Under the Lovers Gazebo suits smaller groups or anyone keeping an eye on the forecast.
The hotel accommodates up to 200 guests, with the Bluegum Ballroom taking anywhere from 10 to 200 or more seated, 250 plus for cocktails, and outdoor events catered for up to 300. The ballroom is unapologetically rustic and the sprawling grounds carry the rest of the day. A ceremony package covers 1.5 hours of location hire, 24 white Americana chairs, a rustic wooden arbour, a signing table with two vintage chairs, a refreshment station, and all setup and pack-down, so the outdoor settings arrive ready to use.
Catering is in-house, with two or three course alternate drop, buffet or cocktail menus, three canapes per guest and a full cakeage service. The bar pours beer, wine, spirits and cocktails, with bar staff and waiters on for the duration of the event. A wedding coordinator and dedicated planning meetings are built into the reception package, along with tables and chairs, a gift table, cake barrel, glassware, cutlery and crockery. More than 18 accommodation rooms on site mean guests can stay where they celebrate. The combination of sprawling hinterland grounds, three outdoor ceremony settings and a hotel that handles everything in one place makes The Bearded Dragon Hotel an outstanding country wedding venue.
