The Acre Boomerang Hills is built around a barn dating to 1902 that has been restored rather than replaced, set among tropical gardens in the Gold Coast hinterland, 20 minutes from Gold Coast Airport. It operates as an all-inclusive venue, so the food, the coordination and most of the furniture arrive as a single decision. The day opens on the Ceremony Lawn, ringed by tropical planting, with a choice of timber or circle arbour and white ceremony benches provided. Celebrants need to bring their own PA for the ceremony itself.
The Acre Barn seats 130 for a reception or holds 150 for cocktails, beneath four-metre ceilings built for hanging installations, with ceiling heaters, a fireplace and banquet tables. Ceremonies have a choice of four settings: the Ceremony Lawn framed by sky-high palm trees, the Rainforest Deck beside a gentle stream, The Ferns for something more intimate, and The Jacaranda, at its best when the tree is in bloom in spring. A bridal parlour is available as an add-on for the morning.
Food and beverage packages are run by the venue, with farm-to-table menus from its own head chef and no tasting required. A dedicated wedding team provides planning support in the lead-up and venue coordination on the day, including set-up and pack-down of the venue’s inclusions. Two bridal buggies seating four, a wine barrel cake stand and a cake knife come with the booking. Accommodation is not on site, though a curated list of nearby options is provided. The combination of a restored heritage barn, tropical garden ceremony lawns and coordination handled end to end makes The Acre Boomerang Hills an outstanding barn wedding venue.
