Spread across 12,000 acres of rolling hills and bushland at Grandchester, Spicers Hidden Vale is built around a restored heritage Australian homestead in the heart of the Scenic Rim. The scale of the property gives the day an unhurried quality, with bushland in every direction and very little beyond it. Ceremonies take place on the manicured grounds, where the range of settings includes the fig tree that has become the property’s signature, and wet-weather options are held ready if the day turns.
The Homestead accommodates up to 120 guests for a seated reception, an elegant building with the chef-hatted Homage restaurant at its heart. The Barn is the more rustic alternative, a historical building of beamed ceilings and warm interiors seating 80 to 90 and extending onto a paved forecourt that becomes the dance floor. Ceremony setup includes a signing table and two chairs, 24 guest chairs and an easel for personalised signage. Weddings above 55 guests require exclusive use, which means booking all 34 guest rooms for the wedding night, a significant cost to factor in early.
Catering comes from Homage itself, offered as a set menu or a share-style banquet with canapes and a sparkling toast after the ceremony. Beverage packages are tiered, and spirits can be added as a bar tab or run as a cash bar. An on-the-day coordinator stays with the wedding from planning through to execution, and accommodation on site means guests settle in rather than drive home. The combination of a vast Scenic Rim setting, a hatted kitchen and rooms on the property makes Spicers Hidden Vale an outstanding country estate wedding venue.
