Drawing its cues from French provincial architecture and set among manicured gardens in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Spicers Clovelly Estate is a luxury property where the grounds handle much of the styling. At its centre is The Long Apron, the estate’s chef-hatted restaurant, which is core to the property rather than an amenity attached to it. Ceremonies are held outdoors in the gardens, surrounded by lush planting and clipped lawns, with indoor alternatives kept in reserve for wet weather.
The estate accommodates up to 120 guests, and the reception setting follows the final number. Up to 80 seated guests fit on the Library Deck, a covered outdoor deck set among the trees with clear blinds, heaters and an audio system, the warmer and more contained of the two options. Above 80 and up to 120, a front-lawn marquee is required, so it is worth settling the guest list early, because that threshold genuinely changes the shape of the evening.
Catering comes from The Long Apron on per-person packages, with a five or six hour premium beverage package depending on the tier, and a dedicated wedding coordinator present on the day. Venue hire includes exclusive use of the property on the wedding day, ceremony setup with chairs and a signing table, long banquet tables dressed in white linen, Hampton dining chairs and equipment for up to 80 guests, and external suppliers are welcome. Accommodation sleeps up to 38 guests across 16 suites and a three-bedroom cottage, with a minimum booking of 19 rooms on the wedding night. The combination of chef-hatted dining, exclusive use of the gardens and on-site suites makes Spicers Clovelly Estate an outstanding luxury wedding venue.
