Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club sits on Keane's Point in Peppermint Grove, with breathtaking views over the Swan River and the yachts moored in Freshwater Bay. The modern clubhouse is designed to sit naturally within its riverside surroundings, and it hosts waterfront weddings in two function rooms on the upper level. Both rooms take in sweeping river views, with natural light and balconies looking out across the water.
The Roland Smith Room is a contemporary space framed by floor-to-ceiling bifold doors that open onto a private balcony, which feels as though it is floating above the water. It seats 230 guests, or 200 with a dance floor, and holds 580 for a cocktail reception including the balcony. The Athol Hobbs Room is smaller and more classic, with a neutral palette, seating 80 guests, or 50 with a dance floor, and up to 300 cocktail style.
The neutral, light-filled rooms suit both classic and modern styling, from long tables under floral installations to cocktail receptions spilling onto the balconies. A dedicated function coordinator handles enquiries for private events, and the club also has two smaller rooms, the Aubrey Sherwood Room and the Ward Room, for intimate gatherings. Weddings are booked through the club's weddings team by phone or email. Compare it with the other Western Australian wedding venues.
