Sitting at the highest point of Mount Cotton, Rainforest Gardens is a family-owned property of 27 acres where century-old hoop pines stand over the gardens and Moreton Bay shows in the distance. It feels less like a built venue than a piece of land that grew into the role, with the structures placed to keep the outlook clear. Ceremonies are held in the Amphitheatre, where tiered timber seating is cut into the mountainside beneath a canopy of palms and a cantilevered deck reaches over the pond, with surround sound built in and a wireless microphone provided.
The Pavilion accommodates up to 100 guests seated or 150 for a cocktail reception, an undercover open-air structure perched on the mountainside and fitted with rain blinds and heaters for the cooler months. If the weather turns during the ceremony, proceedings move under cover to the Bell Tower, a large undercover area kept ready for exactly that. Exclusive use of the venue comes with every wedding, along with access to the wider 27-acre property for photographs and quiet moments away from the crowd.
Catering is in-house and exclusive, with external caterers not permitted, and dietary requirements looked after at no charge. The bar is run in-house on a set beverage menu that is not customisable, with guests able to purchase directly or a tab added instead. An on-the-day coordinator is provided along with a dedicated planning session to build the itinerary, and the hire includes timber banquet tables and crossback chairs, glassware, crockery, cutlery, linen and ambient lighting. Four chalets on the property provide accommodation on the wedding night. The combination of an elevated rainforest setting, an all-weather covered pavilion and a well-equipped in-house offering makes Rainforest Gardens an outstanding garden wedding venue.
