Perched on a hilltop in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Flaxton Gardens looks across its own vineyard on one side and out towards the coast on the other. The tone is relaxed elegance rather than formality, with a purpose-built function space, on-site dining and a vineyard setting sharing the same ridge. Couples can marry on the Escarpment with the coastline spread out below, at the Arbour facing the vines and the windmill, or on the Tuscan Terrace, and every outdoor ceremony site comes with a wet-weather alternative already arranged.
The venue accommodates up to 160 guests for a seated reception in The Winery, the main air-conditioned banquet space, set beneath a trapeze fairy-light ceiling with a mezzanine above for the band or DJ. The Tuscan Terrace is the alternative, hosting receptions under clear-roofed and white marquees hung with crystal chandeliers. Ceremony setup includes 50 Tiffany chairs, a registry table and chairs, a water station and an outdoor PA, so the outdoor settings arrive ready to use.
Catering is in-house and built into the package, opening with canapés after the ceremony, moving to a sit-down entrée and main, and finishing with wedding cake served on platters, alongside a 6.5 hour beverage package. Dedicated coordinators look after menu selection, an on-site planning meeting, supplier matching and the rehearsal. Venue hire carries no separate ceremony fee and buys exclusive use for eight hours on site, with tables, linen, styling décor, crockery, glassware and lawn games included, and accommodation is available on the property. The combination of hilltop views, all-weather planning and a package that covers the essentials makes Flaxton Gardens an outstanding Sunshine Coast Hinterland wedding venue.
