A wedding on Daydream Island is a trip rather than an outing. Everyone flies to the Whitsundays and catches a ferry, and once they land the turquoise water is the backdrop for all of it. That travel requirement filters a guest list honestly, and what you get in return is a few days together on an island instead of five hours in a room.
Ceremonies have three homes. Lovers Cove is the secluded oceanfront setting among palms, overlooking the Coral Sea, seating 60 and also usable for the reception. The chapel is non-denominational, seating 40 behind a floor-to-ceiling glass wall at the altar that frames the Whitsunday Passage. The Chapel Deck is the open-air version, 20 seated with standing room for another 40. Receptions head up to the Horizon Room on the top floor, which looks across to South Molle Island, banquets 170, holds 300 standing and divides into two rooms.
Everything is catered by the resort, so there are no marquees to hire or caterers to ship across, and a dedicated on-site coordinator handles logistics, timeline and styling. Bring your own celebrant or use the recommended list. Styling sits inside the packages, along with return ferry transfers, discounted guest accommodation, daily buffet breakfast and a complimentary night in the Serenity Suite when you book three. The resort rates 3.7 from nearly 1,200 Google reviews, which covers the whole operation rather than weddings alone, so read widely. There is a blog too.
