Riley sits directly on the Cairns Esplanade, a five-star resort built for the tropics with an island-style pool deck facing the Coral Sea. Above it is Rocco, a rooftop bar with 270-degree views across water and mountains, while at ground level the Paper Crane restaurant looks out over the same coastline. Couples can marry poolside on the island deck with the sea beyond, or upstairs at Rocco, where the outlook is already the styling and the celebration can stay exactly where it started.
The resort accommodates up to 420 guests, and caters for weddings ranging from intimate gatherings to full-scale celebrations. Rocco hosts ceremonies and receptions of up to 120 with a Mediterranean-inspired menu. Paper Crane, a modern Asian fusion restaurant with Coral Sea views, takes up to 400 guests and offers either an outdoor deck or a private dining room for smaller groups. Larger seated receptions move into Zones I to VI, combinable banquet and conference rooms that hold banquets of up to 420, so a growing guest list never means changing venue.
Food and drink are handled entirely in-house through the resort’s own restaurants and bars, arriving as one curated food and beverage package rather than a series of separate arrangements. With 311 accommodation rooms on the property, guests who have travelled for the weekend can stay where the wedding is held, and the Eleme Day Spa is a lift ride from the room for the morning before. The combination of oceanfront ceremony settings, rooftop and restaurant venues and accommodation on site makes Crystalbrook Riley an outstanding tropical resort wedding venue.
