Buckland Estate
A historic 1836 homestead estate in the Avon Valley, 100 km from Perth, with a wedding barn, lakeside jetty ceremonies, on-site stays and a BYO policy.
About Buckland Estate
Buckland Estate is a grand heritage estate in the Avon Valley between Toodyay and Northam, about 100 km from the Perth CBD. Established in 1836, the private, secluded property is surrounded by farmland and includes the main homestead, two cottages, a wedding barn, stables, a stone granary, 20 glamping tents and a swimming pool. Couples have exclusive use of the whole property on their wedding day, from getting ready to the last dance.
Ceremonies can be held in front of the homestead, on the jetty overhanging the spring-fed lake, on the side lawn, under the trees or out in the farm paddocks, with the country chapel or homestead ballroom as wet weather options. The Wedding Barn is the most popular reception choice, with rustic chandeliers, festoon and fairy lights, a dance floor and wind and rain protection. Receptions can also be held on the lawns, under the stars or in a marquee.
Buckland Estate is a flexible BYO venue, so couples can bring their own caterers, drinks and decor, and the team supplies a list of regular suppliers as well as optional furniture and lighting. The packages include accommodation for 20 people in the homestead and two cottages, with Dempster Cottage, a stone cottage built in 1853, often used as the bridal room. Another 40 guests can stay in the Glamping Village.
