Perched 800 metres above sea level in World Heritage subtropical rainforest, Binna Burra Lodge looks out over panoramic valleys towards the Gold Coast on the horizon. Heritage buildings sit alongside newly rebuilt facilities, and fireplaces indoors and out take the edge off cool mountain evenings. Outdoor common areas overlook the surrounding valleys, giving couples a rainforest setting for the whole celebration without anyone leaving the lodge grounds.
The lodge accommodates up to 80 guests, seated for dining in the Heritage Barn. The renovated heritage building keeps its timber floors and original stonework, with a window framing the rainforest, a full catering kitchen, and a deck and firepit for guests who drift outside as the evening goes on. Smaller celebrations have their own options. The Pottery Shed holds 35 indoors and opens onto a covered courtyard with stone retaining walls and perimeter timber seating, while the Groom’s Cottage suits 10 to 15 seated or 40 standing and adjoins the Heritage Reading Room, a library of Binna Burra and Lamington National Park history.
Accommodation is the lodge’s particular strength, with almost 60 room types spread across the mountain, from Sky Lodge apartments to Tiny Wild Houses, so guests can stay the weekend rather than drive back down the range in the dark. The Heritage Barn’s full catering kitchen sits on site alongside the lodge’s own bar and restaurant, though wedding catering and bar arrangements are not published and are best confirmed with the lodge directly. The combination of a rainforest mountaintop setting, heritage character and extensive on-site accommodation makes Binna Burra Lodge an outstanding hinterland wedding venue.
