White Hill Estate is a heritage property at McLaren Vale, about 40 minutes from Adelaide, where wedding ceremonies have been held as far back as 1877. Today those ceremonies take place on the rolling lawns, beside the spring-fed dam, or beneath gum trees that are 180 years old, with extensive gardens and heritage buildings behind them.
The Chaff Shed is the main reception space and comfortably seats up to 80 guests. The undercover deck seats 100, and for cocktail-style events the estate hosts larger groups, with guests spilling out onto the sweeping lawn and garden areas. A dedicated venue manager coordinates the day, supported by the estate's service staff.
The original Oliver family homestead accommodates up to 16 guests across seven double bedrooms, with a fully equipped country kitchen, a large dining table, a living area with a wood fire and one night's complimentary firewood, a heritage library, ducted reverse-cycle air conditioning, an undercover entertaining area and BBQ facilities, cotton bed linen and a large claw-foot bath. Catering is not in-house: White Hill partners with a range of caterers, stylists and event planners to suit different styles and budgets, and publishes its recommended supplier list.
