Woodburn Homestead is absolutely amazing! The beautiful scenery and open-air chapel created the most magical and romantic setting for our ceremony. The food was delicious and so well loved by our guests, adding to an already unforgettable experience. Special mention to the late night toasties…

Woodburn Homestead
A private Langhorne Creek estate an hour from Adelaide, with an open-air chapel converted from a chaff shed, marquee lawns above the Angas River and the homestead for the wedding party.
About Woodburn Homestead
Woodburn Homestead is a private estate at Langhorne Creek, about an hour from Adelaide, reached along a long gum-lined driveway. The property is 160-year-old stonework under open skies, and it markets itself as exclusively yours: everything happens on site, from the ceremony and reception through to accommodation, so the wedding becomes a shared weekend rather than a single day.
There are three ceremony settings. The open-air chapel was once a working chaff shed and now has limestone crush floors and golden sandstone walls open to the sky, holding up to 90 guests and prized for its natural light. Melrose's Garden is an intimate, secluded setting alongside the homestead, enclosed by stone walls and framed by black wrought iron gates around a purpose-built arbour, suited to over 100 guests. The olive tree lawns in Rankine's Paddock sit at the front of the property and take up to 100.
For the reception, the Angas Lawns overlook the Angas River and surrounding paddocks and take a large marquee for up to 150 guests, with an outdoor fireplace nearby that comes into its own for winter weddings. The Stable Lounge and Bar, the old stables, houses the bar and lounge under a corrugated iron exterior with exposed stud work and a contemporary gas fire, for cocktail hour and late-night festivities. The stable lawns adjoin the chapel and seat up to 90 for post-ceremony canapés or outdoor dining. Woodburn Homestead appears in our guide to wedding venues in South Australia, where you can compare it against other Fleurieu Peninsula properties on guest numbers, style and price band before you enquire.
