The Vine Shed sits in the heart of McLaren Vale, in the Conte Estate circa 1880 Shiraz vineyard, and carries three generations of winemaking behind it. It is a cellar door and function venue rather than a pure winery, and it won McLaren Vale New Business of the Year in 2021.
The room itself is the draw. Chunky timbers, brushed black metals, timber floors, large barn doors and floor-to-ceiling windows look out over estate vineyards both new and old, giving the space what the venue calls high-end rustic charm. It seats up to 160 guests for a sit-down reception, and there are versatile indoor and outdoor areas so the day can move between the two. Couples routinely note that the natural features mean very little styling is needed.
The Vine Shed hires the venue and supplies an extensive list of event suppliers to tailor the rest, covering catering, flowers, photography and music, so couples can build the day to their own style and budget. A downloadable wedding package sets out the detail, and the venue has run discounts on venue hire, with a further reduction for winter dates. Confirm what is current when you enquire.
