I recently photographed Lucy & Declan’s wedding at Templewood House and was once again reminded why I love this venue so much. It’s a gem in the Adelaide Hills — full of charm, incredible scenery, and a peaceful elegance that’s hard to beat. Travis and his team are phenomenal. Travis, in…

Templewood House
A 1901 Adelaide Hills homestead 40 minutes from the city, with lawns, gardens and an English gazebo, a fairy-lit pavilion for the reception and four ensuite rooms upstairs.
About Templewood House
Templewood House sits about 40 minutes from central Adelaide, reached along a stately driveway, with lawns, gardens and a meadow immersed among native gums. The lush green gardens hold a classic English gazebo and enough room for drink vans or ice cream carts. A short walk up to the High Paddock is rewarded with 360-degree views over rolling hills and sunsets, where the property's friendly horses will pose for photographs, or escort you to your ceremony if you want them to.
Inside, a large air-conditioned drawing room has high ceilings and original open fireplaces built in 1901. It doubles as the wet-weather ceremony space and the getting-ready room. Upstairs there are four double rooms for overnight accommodation, each with an ensuite bathroom, and the ceremony, reception and stay all happen in the one place so guests are not travelling through the day.
The main Ceremony and Reception Hire Package covers Friday to Sunday for up to 80 guests, with more able to be added. It includes a bridal retreat, exclusive use of the lawns, gardens and gazebo for the ceremony and photography, ceremony decor with an arbour, up to 32 wooden chairs and a signing table, use of the drawing room and enclosable front veranda in poor weather, and a floored pavilion with a fairy-light ceiling and dance floor, plus occasional and pavilion furniture. Catering is the couple's own choice, with complimentary access to the venue's commercial kitchen. A separate Micro Wedding package runs Monday to Thursday and selected Fridays and Sundays, with a garden ceremony for up to 20 chairs, a five-hour private reception room and veranda hire, a choice of two three-course menus with linen, furniture, cutlery, crockery and glassware, a five-hour premium beverage package of local Adelaide Hills wines, and one night's accommodation for the couple. Templewood House appears in our guide to wedding venues in South Australia, where you can compare it against other Adelaide Hills properties on guest numbers, style and price band before you enquire.
