A husband-and-wife photography and film team who have been documenting Adelaide weddings for over 20 years.
SvenStudios is Steven, who goes by Sven, and Luisa: a husband-and-wife photography and videography team working out of Aberfoyle Park in Adelaide’s south. Their own site puts the tally at more than 700 weddings across more than 20 years, which is one of the longest unbroken runs of any wedding studio in South Australia.
The philosophy they publish is a useful one to read before you book anybody: a wedding is not a photoshoot with a party happening around it. They set out to document the laughter, the nerves, the quiet glances and the dance floor, offering gentle direction where it helps and then leaving enough room for the day to happen on its own.
What genuinely sets them apart is the format range. Alongside digital photography and video they still shoot Super 8 film, which almost nobody else in the state offers. If you want a few minutes of grainy, sun-flared motion picture footage sitting next to a modern gallery, this is the studio with the equipment and the experience to do it.
Coverage extends well past the city. They regularly work across the Adelaide Hills, the Barossa and McLaren Vale, and travel further afield through Australia and New Zealand, so a regional or interstate wedding is familiar ground rather than an exception.
