Pike & Joyce is the partnership of two long-established South Australian families: the Pikes, in winemaking and viticulture, and the Joyces, fifth-generation horticulturists. Together they developed a 25-hectare vineyard at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills, on steep north and east-facing slopes that were previously apple and pear orchards, now planted to cool-climate varieties.
The venue is perched atop a hill and its selling point is the outlook: unobstructed 180-degree panoramic views from the terrace garden, and a glass-fronted restaurant that takes in the same view. Exclusive venue hire is available, so the ceremony, the reception and the dance floor all stay in the one place.
The kitchen is led by Head Chef Mat, who works with seasonal, local Adelaide Hills ingredients, with generous servings running from elegant canapés through to formal seated dining. The wines are single-estate and cool-climate, poured overlooking the vineyard they come from. The tasting room is open 11am to 4pm every day for couples who want to see the site before they commit.
