Partridge House is a historic property at Glenelg, about 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD and a stone's throw from the beach. The house dates from the mid-1800s and sits in community gardens on traditional Kaurna land. It handles the whole day in one place: ceremony, reception and photographs.
Garden areas can be reserved for outdoor ceremonies, and the iconic spot is under the elm tree. One of the indoor rooms doubles as the wet-weather contingency and is a good option for a winter wedding in its own right. Receptions are held in the elegant main rooms, seated or cocktail style. The Partridge Room takes 90 standing or 70 to 75 seated; the Courtyard Room takes 90 standing or 65 to 70 seated; combined, the Partridge and Courtyard rooms hold 180 for a standing cocktail function. For smaller gatherings, the Library Room takes 20 standing or 10 seated, the Mayoress' Parlour 30 standing or 12 seated, and the Garden Room 30 standing or 12 seated.
Both the house and the gardens photograph well, and the beach is only a few minutes away for sunset shots. Partridge House caters for all events but specialises in weddings, and has its own catering and package information. A dedicated team responds to enquiries and supplies the relevant information; a booking is not confirmed until the date is confirmed in writing by the venue manager and the completed form and deposit are received.
