A family-owned boutique garden venue on 75 acres at Echunga, 40 minutes from the CBD, built around a circa-1901 Edwardian homestead and three acres of botanical gardens.
Hazelmere Homestead was founded in the mid-1980s as one of the first bespoke wedding venues to open in the Adelaide Hills, and it remains family-owned. It sits on 75 acres of rolling countryside at Echunga, about 40 minutes from the Adelaide CBD and close to the accommodation options in nearby Hahndorf, with three of those acres given over entirely to gardens.
The circa-1901 Edwardian homestead sits at the centre of three acres of botanical gardens, and the gardens carry the ceremony and pre-dinner drinks. The Pavilion, once a fernery, is the reception space: an open-plan room with a bluestone feature wall, shimmering festoon lights, a wet bar and windows opening to the gardens, so dining and mingling happen in the same room. Expansive lawns take lawn games, cocktail dining or overflow seating. The venue quotes a ceremony capacity of 300 standing or 120 seated, and 300 standing for the reception.
Hazelmere is flexible on suppliers: couples can bring their own preferred caterer and beverages, using the on-site bar and kitchen facilities, or take the venue's in-house beverage packages. Wedding packages can include round tables and black Bentwood dining chairs, and the property has its own in-house florist, The Flower Shed. There is boutique accommodation on site for up to six guests, and the venue is offered on exclusive use, with a 9am start and last drinks at 11pm.
