Glen Ewin Estate
A heritage estate of manicured gardens, lakes and native woodland 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, with an 1850s timber Pulpshed and a modern glass-walled Gatehouse.
About Glen Ewin Estate
Glen Ewin Estate is a heritage-listed property in the Adelaide Hills at Lower Hermitage, held by the same family since 1843 and run today as South Australia's premier heritage wedding venue. Sweeping lawns look over manicured gardens, scenic lakes, orchards and native woodland, and the whole estate sits about 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.
There are two principal wedding rooms. The Pulpshed is a timeworn timber barn dating from the 1850s, nestled among old stone buildings next to the original homestead, with expansive lawns sweeping down to the lake; it takes the larger receptions. The Gatehouse is the newer building at the top of the valley, bright and lofty with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto a sunny deck over a picturesque pond. The grounds themselves are used for outdoor ceremonies and events, and the estate reports hosting from intimate dinners through to large sit-down receptions.
Catering is the estate's own, and wedding and event packages include tables, chairs, white linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware and all staffing, with hire items such as easels, lawn games and outdoor umbrellas available. Dietary needs are catered at no additional cost when notified ahead of time. There is an in-house florist on site, Mary Wauchope, working from her own workshop at the estate. Glen Ewin is a private residence and has no accommodation on the property, though partner hotels and other options sit within 30 minutes. Glen Ewin Estate appears in our guide to wedding venues in South Australia, where you can compare it against other Adelaide Hills properties on guest numbers, style and price band before you enquire.

What couples say about Glen Ewin Estate
We had our wedding reception at The Pulpshed last Saturday and despite the wet weather, it was amazing. We fell in love with the venue when we saw the photos of the beautiful autumn leaves on their website, and they were even more stunning in person! Everything leading up to the day went by so…
