Brand's Laira is an iconic winery in the heart of Coonawarra's famed terra rossa strip, with old vine vineyards dating back to 1893, when Captain Stentiford planted them. It describes itself as a hidden gem just off the beaten track, and the setting combines heritage with a newly renovated cellar door.
The day runs across the property: vows among the vines, cocktail hour on the sprawling lawns, then dinner in the cellar door. There are two very different indoor characters to choose from. Eric's Shed is the rustic original stone building, while the state-of-the-art cellar door is large, lavish and modern, with floor-to-ceiling vineyard views and an alfresco dining area. Venue capacity is 150.
Private hire gives access to the entire venue for the day or evening, taking in the cellar door, the meeting room, Eric's cellar and the grounds. The ceremony and reception can both be held here, or the ceremony can be held off-site with the reception at the cellar door. Catering is not in-house: the cellar door staff will help you find the right caterer for your day. The estate can also host workshops, corporate conferences and private dining across its five event spaces.
