Al Ru Farm is a country estate at Sampson Flat, north of Adelaide, built around ten acres of gardens that have been developed over decades: the property still holds an annual open garden in memory of Ruth Irving, whose legacy the gardens carry. A wedding here means exclusive access: the venue hosts only one wedding at a time.
The estate scales from intimate to grand. Packages are built around guest numbers, with smaller romantic weddings for up to 45 guests at one end and celebrations for over 220 on the lake lawn, with marquee options, at the other. Reception areas run both indoors and outdoors, and the ten acres of gardens give couples a wide choice of ceremony settings and photography spots.
Two things set the commercial arrangement apart. Beverages are BYO, so couples are free to serve their own drinks rather than buy a house package. Catering runs through the estate's catering teams, and Al Ru hosts tasting dinners for booked couples, both cocktail-style and farm feast, so you can try the menu before committing to it. Four luxurious accommodation suites sit on the property, and packages are sold as stress-free all-inclusive options.
