About The George Ballroom
The George Ballroom is a heritage wedding venue set on the first floor of a beautifully restored historic building in the heart of St Kilda. With soaring ceilings, ornate period detailing, warm timber floors and soft ambient lighting, the room carries a sense of grand old-world elegance that needs very little added to it.
Couples arrive via an art deco staircase or the building's ornate vintage lift, and the single, generous space works seamlessly as both ceremony and reception venue — flowing effortlessly from vows to dining and then to dancing as the evening unfolds. An inbuilt draping system and characterful distressed walls give the room its atmosphere, so minimal additional styling is required.
Catering is handled in-house by Damm Fine Food Co., and every wedding is supported by a dedicated event coordinator through the planning process plus an on-the-day supervisor to keep the celebration running smoothly.
