Rupert on Rupert is a premium weddings and events venue in inner-city Collingwood that blends industrial charm with vintage allure. Once a restaurant, the Rupert Street warehouse has been given over full-time to weddings and events, and its light-filled, green spaces and thoughtfully designed interiors carry a warmth that softens the raw industrial bones of the building.
The venue is built around two contrasting spaces. Ceremonies unfold in the Conservatory, a plant-filled room the venue likens to an evergreen cathedral, where a transparent ceiling lets waiting guests bask in Melbourne's seasonal light while staying protected from the weather. Receptions move to the Main Dining Hall, where cathedral-high ceilings are braced by criss-crossing steel rafters in the manner of an inner-city warehouse conversion. Couples are encouraged to host both ceremony and reception within the one venue, mingling amid the lush greenery before the party begins.
Catering is handled in-house, with restaurant-quality menus the kitchen customises for both seated and stand-up cocktail-style events, from canapes and feasting menus to roving desserts, with dietary needs taken into account. A built-in Sonos sound system and warm, relational service round out the offering.
