King Parrot Cottages & Event Centre sits within the Pennyroyal Valley in the Otways, spread across roughly 200 acres of private bushland surrounded by forests, creeks and native wildlife. Weddings here are exclusive-use affairs: couples book the whole property for a minimum of two nights, so the estate and its landscape belong solely to their celebration.
Ceremonies can take place almost anywhere on the property. Options range from grassy slopes framed by magnificent views over the Pennyroyal Valley to a more intimate forest setting beside the creek, surrounded by majestic trees and birdsong. Resident animals — horses, donkeys and alpacas — and native wildlife add to the immersive bush character, and the estate is dog-friendly.
Receptions are hosted in the Lodge & Hall complex, which seats up to 80 guests, with a large adjacent lawn where a marquee can be erected to accommodate up to 120. The hall includes a commercial kitchen, commercial fridges, bar space and a deck overlooking the valley, giving couples the flexibility to plan a relaxed, largely DIY celebration.
