Katrina Lai is a Melbourne wedding celebrant and reception MC who says the stage has felt like home since she was 18, from wedding ceremonies and receptions to corporate events with hundreds in the room. As an Australian-born Chinese celebrant and MC, she knows how much it means when a celebration feels true to the couple across languages and cultures. She has hosted more than 200 weddings.

She is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hakka, so bilingual ceremonies and receptions let parents, grandparents and every guest follow along in their own language. She has also woven key words and phrases in Vietnamese, Korean and Tagalog into past weddings. She guides traditional tea ceremonies in the preferred dialect of your family and elders, either woven into the day or as a standalone gathering.

Her Ceremony Experience covers a personalised ceremony shaped from your story, guided consultation, vow guidance, a rehearsal walk-through, photo coordination and a PA system with wireless microphone. For a single pair of hands across the day, her Ceremony to Reception option adds run-sheet design, supplier and venue coordination and reception MC duties through to the final dance. Simpler Sweet and Simple and legal-only ceremonies are also available.

Katrina was named ABIA Victorian MC of the Year in 2024 and 2025 and was a top five ABIA marriage celebrant finalist in both years, along with Easy Weddings Five Star Supplier recognition. Her site cites more than 300 five-star wedding reviews. She travels regularly across Victoria, including the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula, and interstate by arrangement, with travel included in her quote.
