Joshua Huggett Media is an Adelaide photo and video studio run by Josh Huggett out of Old Reynella, with a small team of shooters working alongside him.
The self-description is Australia’s least professional wedding photographer, which is a joke about manner rather than craft. The serious version is that the crew works as an extension of your bridal party instead of hiding at the edge of the room forcing people into poses, and Josh is blunt that his job is to make sure you do not look awkward in your own photographs.
He is also refreshingly honest about his own origin story. He did not pick up a camera until his final year of high school, spent years shooting abandoned buildings, travel and commercial work, and only moved seriously into weddings after finding out he was going to be a father.
The studio works the full day as standard rather than selling coverage in blocks. The reasoning is practical: a gallery or a film can only tell the story of a day if the crew was there from the morning, when there is time to get to know everyone before the schedule takes over.
