About Emu Bottom Homestead
Set on 62 acres of working farmland and native Australian greenery, Emu Bottom Homestead is recognised as the oldest homestead in Victoria, first established in 1836 by George Evans. Just outside Sunbury on the Macedon Ranges fringe, the heritage estate offers couples a relaxed, regional setting within easy reach of Melbourne.
At the heart of the property is The Woolshed, originally built in 1854 from rough-hewn red gum slabs. It features a large stone open fireplace, exposed timber beams and a striking 'starry sky' lighting installation overhead — a romantically rustic space for receptions shared over a hearty meal with family and friends.
