Andrew Redman is a Melbourne marriage celebrant who began celebrancy in late 2012 and says he has since conducted more than 800 weddings. He describes his approach as modern, organised and fun to work with, while respecting the serious nature of the day. His aim is a ceremony that feels personal, heartfelt and true to the couple, told in the language and tone that best reflects them, rather than a typical script read by a typical celebrant.
He likens a ceremony to a stage production: the styling can be perfect, but if the script and its delivery do not work, the moment falls flat. Andrew enjoys helping couples move from having no clear vision to a ceremony that feels exactly like them, and he uses his creative writing and public speaking skills to keep the focus entirely on the couple. Many of the testimonials on his site mention guests assuming he was an old family friend.
Before and alongside celebrancy, Andrew spent more than 20 years in senior management and human resources roles in the public sector, and has also worked with the AFL as a strength and conditioning coach. On a personal level he is married to his childhood sweetheart and they have four children. His site lists multiple ABIA awards as Victoria's best male marriage celebrant, a national best male celebrant title, and features in bridal magazines.
Alongside full weddings he offers simple ceremonies of around 10 to 15 minutes, legals-only ceremonies of about five minutes, elopements, destination weddings interstate and overseas, and vow renewals, commitment and naming ceremonies. He also works as a wedding MC, coordinating the timeline with your venue and suppliers and keeping the reception moving, and says he has emceed dozens of weddings.
