Willow & Stone Estate is an exclusive wedding venue in Golden Point, Ballarat, set on a private property built in the 1970s as a tribute to gold rush architecture and craftsmanship. Owners Leisha and Carlos found the estate in 2011 and have run it as a venue since 2015, growing it from a DIY approach into a full service offering. They host only one wedding per weekend, with exclusive use of the estate generally from Friday morning to Monday afternoon.
Ceremonies are most often held on the Top Lawn, the highest point of the property, framed by a grand oak, silver birches and a wall of poplars and willows. Guests then move to the Main Lawn, with its cherry tree walk and bluestone gazebo, for cocktail hour. Receptions are held in a 20 by 10 metre clear marquee with an automated retractable roof, which opens onto a spotted gum dance deck under festoon lights. The permit allows up to 150 guests, including the bridal party.
Venue hire includes three nights in the luxury suite, The Cave for getting ready, a moody wine cellar, an onsite licensed bar with glassware, ceremony and cocktail hour furniture, and an experienced wedding coordinator. Couples bring their own caterer, entertainment and styling, with recommendations from the team. Guests can stay next door at the Mercure Hotel and walk in through a private gate, and micro weddings for up to 45 guests run from May to September.
