Wedding Forest is a family-run business in Wesburn, in Victoria's Yarra Valley, that turns real slices of radiata pine into wedding stationery. It has been operating since 2016, originally as Stringybark Supplies, and every slice is printed in house rather than outsourced. The designs suit forest, rustic and eco-friendly weddings, and a magnet on the back of each invitation means guests can keep the date somewhere handy.
The range covers wood slice invitations and save the dates in designs such as Taiga, Eucalyptus, Fern, Protea, Lavender, Sunflower and Mountain, plus card invitations and save the dates with a wood slice centre. Invitations come in a standard slice of about 7 to 8 cm or a large slice of about 11 to 12 cm, with optional backing cards and envelopes. Couples can order a sample pack first or ask for a custom design, and a design proof is sent before production begins.
For the day itself, Wedding Forest prints personalised wood slice coasters that double as guest favours and place cards, along with table numbers, small wood slice place cards, wood slice centrepieces and cake stands, wooden welcome signs, seating charts and a wooden guest book alternative. Orders ship Australia-wide at a flat rate, with an express option for couples who are short on time.
