About Wed By Lou
Wed By Lou is the celebrant business of Louisa Mudge, known as Lou, who helps couples get married in Hobart / nipaluna. Her itch to become a celebrant started at her brother's wedding. She completed her celebrant accreditation while living in Byron Bay, where she began marrying couples, and many weddings later she now calls Tasmania home. She offers everything from quick, simple ceremonies to big celebrations with all the bells and whistles.
Lou starts with a face-to-face or video meeting to design a ceremony around the couple's story, then stays available by phone, text, email and video call. She helps with vows, readings, music choices and special touches, runs an optional rehearsal, and arrives early on the day to touch base with the photographer and other vendors. She also takes care of all the legal paperwork, both on the day and afterwards.
Smaller weddings are covered too, with a package for couples with up to ten guests, and a legal-only ceremony with just the couple and two witnesses. Tasmania has no government registry office for marriages, so this gives couples a registry-style option that can be held somewhere as casual as a living room or backyard. Her packages cover all Hobart venues, with a travel fee beyond 40km.
