The Wedding Guy is Nick Gibson, a Port Douglas celebrant, MC and DJ with more than 20 years of experience across Tropical North Queensland. Couples can book Nick for one role or all three, so a single trusted person looks after the ceremony, the reception formalities and the music. He works from the Daintree and Cape Tribulation down through Port Douglas, Palm Cove and the Northern Beaches to Cairns and the hinterland.
As a registered civil celebrant, Nick lodges the Notice of Intended Marriage, writes a personalised ceremony script, runs a rehearsal at the venue when needed and lodges the paperwork with the registry afterwards. He marries couples at weddings, elopements and vow renewals, and destination couples can plan by Zoom, phone and email before meeting him in person closer to the date.
As MC, Nick handles bridal party introductions, speeches, formalities and the run sheet. As DJ, he builds a playlist around each couple's must plays and must avoids, coordinates setup directly with the venue and brings professional equipment. He also plays corporate and resort events, including at the Sheraton Grand Mirage.
