Two pillar-free rooms with teak dance floors at Auburn - owner-operated, and built around Indian weddings and the pre-wedding functions that surround them.
The Sapphire Function Centre sits at Auburn, a short drive from Parramatta, and is one of the more specialised wedding venues in Parramatta. It is owner-operated by Yogesh Manav and Jasbir Kang, who say they stay across a booking from the first enquiry through to the day itself rather than handing it to a function coordinator.
The Sapphire Room is the main hall - a grand pillar-free space with a rich teak dance floor, a foyer for pre- or post-event drinks, and a professional lighting system of more than 400 lights that move to the music. It seats 300 for dinner, 275 for a dinner dance, or holds 400 for cocktails. The Crystal Room is the more intimate of the two, pillar-free and filled with natural light, seating 150 or holding 170 for cocktails, and named for the crystal chandeliers on its ceiling.
The venue specialises in Indian weddings and the pre-wedding functions around them - sangeet, haldi and mehndi - and the team coordinates the cultural detail, from mandaps and mehndi through to bridal entries and baraat processions. Catering is in-house with Indian and fusion menus, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, plus live food stations. A separate outdoor catering arm covers events held away from the venue.
