The Digital Poets is a Melbourne wedding videography business founded in late 2016 by Luke, who has been mastering the art of videography for 15 years. What began as a hobby and a means of creative expression became a love of creating poetry through digital film after filming a couple of weddings. The team won a Top 10 Best Wedding Videographers in Melbourne listing from Wedding Diaries in 2022.
Storytelling is the focus. Every film starts with a discovery call, a vision questionnaire and a relaxed meeting of about an hour and a half, so the team understands what makes the relationship special. On the day there are no scripts or acting: the videographers stay unobtrusive and capture real moments, then weave speeches and highlights into a story, sharing drafts until the couple loves the finished film.
Every package includes nine hours of coverage with two videographers, up to four 4K cameras with stabilisers and professional audio for clear speeches. Each wedding receives a 4 to 6 minute cinematic short film, with options such as raw footage, full ceremony and speeches videos, a two hour full day video, a pre-wedding shoot, drone footage and a 15 second Instagram teaser.
