About Terrace Press
Terrace Press is a female-led, family-owned letterpress printing and design studio in West Pennant Hills, about 20 minutes from the Sydney CBD. Founder Alex is a fourth-generation printmaker, and both her passion for the craft and the studio's letterpress printers were passed down from her Pop Fred. The studio designs and prints personalised wedding stationery with couples and planners in Sydney, interstate and overseas, with consultations in person by appointment or online.
Every stage is handled in-house, with quality control from design through to the final print. Inks are mixed by hand and printed one colour at a time onto 100% cotton paper and speciality stocks, using two 1960 Heidelberg windmill presses and a tabletop foiler. Finishes include blind embossing, hot foiling, duplexing, white ink printing and die cutting, and the studio also prints on acrylic, mirror and wood, working with local designers, calligraphers and illustrators.
For the lead up, Terrace Press prints save the dates, invitations, details cards, RSVP cards and maps, with wax seals, envelope liners, handmade paper, custom illustration and calligraphy available as extras. For the day itself there are menus, place cards, seating charts and welcome signs. A wedding sample pack of papers and printing techniques lets couples feel the letterpress impression before they enquire.
