Somersby Gardens Estate is a privately owned, completely secluded 50-acre property set in native bushland at Somersby, about 50 minutes north of Sydney and a leisurely hour's drive south of Newcastle. The property was established in 2003 as a private home and the gardens followed in 2005. Ceremony, photos, reception and accommodation all happen on the one estate, with private access to the Great North Walk, and all viewings and events are by appointment only.
Ceremonies are held in the Rustic Chapel, an all-weather space with expansive metal beams, chandeliers and open-air views across the estate, or in the intimate Wisteria Amphitheatre. Receptions of up to 120 guests take place in The Pavilion, a barn-inspired space draped in fairy lights and chandeliers that opens onto a manicured garden lawn, while larger weddings of up to 150 guests can have a marquee on the Estate Green. Photo spots include The Ledge, The Cutting, The Bridge and the paddocks.
The Pavilion package covers three days of estate access, the Estate Studio for getting ready, on-the-day coordination with supplier management, two bar staff, a cool room, a parking attendant and security, plus a night's stay for the couple. A Deluxe version adds catering by Fork N Knife Catering and furniture. The seven-bedroom homestead sleeps up to 14 guests and a two-bedroom apartment sleeps four, while micro weddings, elopements and ceremony-only bookings are quoted on request.
