SIFA Events is a Melbourne entertainment agency that books professional DJs for weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations, alongside MCs, solo musicians and magicians. The agency was established in 2013 out of a passion for top-tier DJing and showcasing emerging talent, and its roster spans House, Electro, Trance, Old School, Drum and Bass, RnB and Hip-hop. Every entertainer goes through the agency's own training, and in 2016 it launched the SIFA Academy to train and develop DJs.
For weddings, SIFA Events works with couples to build a soundtrack around their story, with a focus on multicultural music selections and an online planning centre where couples can put together their own playlists. Weddings sit under the Premiere DJ Package, made for 100 to 500 guests, which brings the DJ with a stage booth, lighting bar, speakers, subwoofer and microphone. DJs welcome song requests, are trained in beat mixing and dress to the dress code the couple chooses.
SIFA DJs can make basic announcements and introductions, and a dedicated MC can be added for the formalities. The administration team sorts out venue details ahead of the day, and the DJ usually arrives an hour before guests to set up. Bookings are made online with instant confirmation and a 50% deposit. Recent wedding work in the gallery includes confetti-filled dance floors and first dances.
