Sea of Love is a Melbourne wedding film studio founded in 2022 by Nathan Follett, who has been filming weddings for more than 15 years. Before starting the studio he was creative director of a destination wedding film studio, filming in 26 countries across six continents and documenting more than 300 wedding days. Sea of Love takes on a limited number of weddings each year so that every film gets the time and care it needs.
The approach is documentary first. There is no shot list and no staged moments; the day is filmed as it unfolds, in sequence, so the final edit carries its real rhythm, with a cinematic look that never shows off. For couples who want it, Super 8 film is woven through as a layer within the wider film. Main feature films run around four to five minutes and arrive within six to eight weeks, with fortnightly progress updates.
Based in Melbourne, Sea of Love films right across Victoria, from the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula to the Macedon Ranges, Daylesford, the Bellarine Peninsula and the High Country, and also travels interstate and overseas. Recent films include weddings at Stones of the Yarra Valley, Pt. Leo Estate, Jackalope and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and the work has been featured in Hello May, The Bridal Journey and Ivory Tribe.
