Rundle Tailoring is a fourth-generation family tailor in Newcastle West, dressing couples and their wedding parties in ready-to-wear, hire and Made-to-Measure suits.
Rundle Tailoring traces its story to 1908, when Richard Thomas Rundle opened a tailoring shop on Hunter Street in Newcastle. Today fourth-generation tailor Andrew Rundle and his wife Bronwyn run the business from its Newcastle West store, which serves Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and beyond. Weddings are a big part of what they do, and the team dresses grooms, brides and whole wedding parties, from classic black tie to relaxed vineyard or beach looks.
Couples can choose ready-to-wear wedding suits from brands such as Gibson, Joe Black, Savile Row and Cambridge, Australian-made formal hire suits, or a Made-to-Measure suit. Made-to-Measure starts with a fitting with Andrew, who has more than 35 years of tailoring experience, while Bronwyn guides fabric and styling choices. Suits can be made overseas, by Dormeuil in Portugal, or right here in Newcastle, and the in-house seamstresses handle alterations on site.
Many couples buy their own suit and hire for the groomsmen, and Rundle Tailoring offers wedding party discounts on suits and alterations, plus pageboy suits for children aged 3 to 12. The store welcomes men, women and queer couples alike, and in 2025 it won Australia's Best Wedding Suit Fashion at the ABIA Designer of Dreams Awards.
