A family-owned, 10 acre private riverside estate in the Gold Coast Hinterland, run as a blank canvas venue for ceremonies and receptions of up to 100 guests.
Riverwood Weddings is held at Riverwood Estate, a family-owned private residence on 10 acres along the Coomera River in the Guanaba Valley, at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. The family has lived on the property for around 30 years and hand-planted most of its trees and gardens, and the venue began after a daughter's own wedding there in September 2014. It sits less than 20 minutes from Sanctuary Cove and about 30 to 40 minutes from Surfers Paradise.
The estate is a blank canvas venue licensed by the Gold Coast council for 15 full wedding events a year, on Fridays and Saturdays only, for up to 100 guests with an 11:00pm curfew. Ceremonies take place on the riverbank, reached by a stone staircase through tropical gardens, with two riverbank ceremony spots to choose from. Receptions are held on 'the outlook', an elevated 30m by 13m flat lawn overlooking the river.
Couples bring in their own reception structure, whether Kata tipis, a clear or white marquee, nomadic tents or open-air festoon lighting, and choose a mobile caterer, with alcohol BYO and served by RSA staff. Power, water, a large cool room, deluxe portable bathrooms and a lit bonfire pit with blankets and marshmallows come with the venue, and dogs are welcome at the ceremony. There is no accommodation on site. Compare it with the other Queensland wedding venues.
