Red Eclectic is the photography business of Kat, a Perth photographer who has been paid to take photos since 2013 and moved into wedding photography in 2018 after photographing a friend's wedding. She describes her style as documentary and centred around play, made for couples planning chill, fun or non-traditional days, from elopements under a tree in the forest to backyard wedding parties and intimate weddings in heritage buildings in Freo.
Kat specialises in elopements and micro weddings and offers flexible coverage, so couples book only the hours they need and can settle the duration after a timeline meeting. Every booking includes images in both colour and black and white, an online gallery, a sneak peek within a week, a highlight reel, timeline planning and recommendations for like-minded vendors. She also plants a tree for every wedding and has written a guide to planning an eco friendly wedding in Perth.
Recent weddings on the Red Eclectic blog include Cottesloe Civic Centre, Moore and Moore in Fremantle and Anderson Point. Kat is based in Perth and happy to travel down south occasionally, with an extra charge for locations more than an hour from the CBD. Red Eclectic welcomes all couples regardless of gender identity or sexuality, and dogs are very welcome on the day.
