A family-run smokehouse, restaurant and vineyard 30 minutes from Canberra, with garden ceremonies under a Golden Elm and receptions in a marquee or the restaurant.
Poachers Pantry is a family business at Springrange, just 30 minutes from Canberra city, that began as an artisan smokehouse in 1991 and grew to include a restaurant, the Poachers Vineyard, a cellar door and a country wedding destination. The first wedding was held on the Homestead Lawn under the Golden Elm in 2007. Today the ceremony, photos and reception all happen in the one rural location.
Couples exchange vows under the magnificent Golden Elm on the Homestead Lawn, in the Marquee Gardens or on the Restaurant Lawns. Drinks and canapés follow in the Marquee Gardens while photos are taken around the gardens and grounds. A new Bridal Room gives up to six people a space on site to get ready or change outfits. The General Manager guides each couple through the schedule, menu, wine and seating plan.
Receptions are held in the farmhouse style restaurant, with its wooden floors, stone fireplace and deck over the lawns and kitchen garden, or in the garden marquee set among English gardens. Menus feature regional produce paired with estate grown Poachers Vineyard wine, served as a shared table or alternate drop. Petit Weddings for up to 40 guests run on Thursdays and Fridays. Food and beverage package: From $220 per person
2027/2028 season: two course with 5 hr standard beverages $220 pp, up to $268 pp for three course with premium beverages. Plus grounds hire $1,500 and venue hire (marquee $2,000, restaurant $3,000, evening); evening minimum spends $8,000 to $25,000 by day and space. Petit Weddings: Chef's menu $100 pp plus grounds hire $800 to $1,200.
