Petal and Sage is a wedding and event florist founded and run by Cassie McQualter, who has worked in the wedding and event industry for almost a decade. The team specialises in abundant wedding blooms inspired by the natural landscapes and seasonal flowers of Australia, and now works from a boutique studio in the Yarra Valley. With backgrounds in communication design and floristry, they create bridal bouquets, ceremony florals and reception pieces for couples across Melbourne.
Booking starts with an online enquiry and questionnaire, followed by an estimate and a personalised concept board, then a detailed proposal. A month out there is a final meeting to settle the details, and in the wedding week couples receive a photo of the flower market haul. On the day, Cassie and the team deliver the personal flowers, set up the venue florals and can return to clear them. Petal and Sage also partners with small local flower farmers who, booked early enough, can grow blooms especially for a wedding.
Petal and Sage has created weddings at Hubert Estate, The Riverstone Estate and The Farm in the Yarra Valley, at Quat Quatta in Ripponlea and at Gardens House in the Botanical Gardens. Deliveries cover the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges. The business was named in the ABIA 2023 Australia's Top 10 wedding florists and was an ABIA wedding florist finalist in 2023 and 2025.
