Perth Pop-Up Movies is a family-run outdoor cinema hire business from Kwinana, bringing big screens, sound and bean bags to wedding receptions across Perth and the Peel region.
Perth Pop-Up Movies is a family business run by Alexander Coutts-Smith from Parmelia in Kwinana. Alexander spent 25 years in professional audio visual before starting the business in 2020, and he looks after the quote and the plan for every booking, with the family pitching in on the bigger screens and busy weekends. The team delivers and sets up outdoor cinema across Perth and the Peel region, with screens from 3m to 8m.
At a wedding the screen can play an engagement photo slideshow as guests arrive, a love story video, a thank-you message during dinner and an after-dinner film under the stars, with a custom pre-show at no extra charge. A 3m screen in a separate kids room keeps children entertained with a family film, and the framed screen sets up indoors in a marquee or function room when the weather turns.
For 5m and 8m bookings a crew member stays on site from setup through to pack-down, and the screen is ready 90 minutes before guests arrive. Couples can add bean bags, a party pack with JBL speakers and party lights, a smoke machine, or a silent battery inverter for quiet winery and garden receptions. Prices stay the same every day of the week, with no weekend surcharges.

We hired some Bluetooth speakers from Alex for our wedding reception. They were more than adequate for the occassion. The sound was magnificent, they were very simple to set up and connect to. Alex was very easy to deal with, communicated well and very flexible with pick up and drop off.
