About Perla Photography
Perla Photography was founded more than a decade ago by Laura Newton, who was born on the shores of Lake Como in Italy before moving to Australia. Based in Mount Martha, Laura and her team have photographed more than 700 weddings across Victoria and overseas, specialising in the Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley and Melbourne, with destination work that has taken them to Europe and Fiji.
The Perla style blends candid moments with elegant, thoughtfully composed portraits, favouring natural light, golden hour and sweeping landscapes over dark or overly staged images. Couples get gentle guidance during portraits and help with a custom timeline, and every image and album is edited and designed in house. Collections offer six to ten hours of coverage, and the team also offers engagement shoots and an iPhone based wedding content creator.
Featured galleries include weddings at Lancemore Lindenderry in Red Hill, Crittenden Estate, Half Acre in South Melbourne, Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club and The Baths in Sorrento. Perla's work has been featured in Vogue, Ivory Tribe, Style Me Pretty and Hello May, and the team regularly publishes planning articles for couples.
