Passion for Cakes is a Kewarra Beach wedding cake business run by chefs Lorraine and Iain, making handcrafted, custom wedding cakes for couples across Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas and Kuranda.
Passion for Cakes is run by Lorraine and Iain, wedding cake designers based in Kewarra Beach, a few kilometres north of Cairns. Both are fully qualified chefs who have worked for international hotel companies including Hilton, Sheraton, InterContinental, Ritz-Carlton and Park Hyatt, and between them they bring more than 40 years of industry experience. They hold a Cairns Regional Council food business licence and look after weddings across Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas and Kuranda.
Every wedding cake is handcrafted and custom made, from the traditional iced cake to what the site calls the out there funky style. Lorraine and Iain help with size, colour and decoration, and couples are encouraged to bring colour samples and pictures. Flavours include white and dark chocolate mud cakes in variations such as raspberry, caramel, mango and Cherry Ripe, plus vanilla butter sponge, traditional fruit cake, red velvet, carrot, banana and flourless orange and almond.
The gallery shows a wide range of finished wedding cakes, from naked cakes with fresh roses to fondant tiers with draping and sugar roses, tropical leaf prints and seaside designs with shells and starfish. Alongside tiered cakes there are wedding cupcake towers, individual wedding cakes and cake stands, sugar flowers can be supplied, and cakes are delivered across the Cairns and Port Douglas area. Wedding cakes are best ordered four to twelve weeks ahead.

Passion for cakes did our wedding cake. Not only was it the most beautiful cake, decorated exactly as our inspo photo! It tasted divine!! All of our guests were talking about how amazing it was. 10/10 service with easy pick up times.
