Olinda Tea House & Restaurant sits on a 17-acre property in Olinda, in the Dandenong Ranges about 50 minutes from Melbourne. It hosts weddings from 10 to 150 guests, from small gatherings in a private room to exclusive use of the whole venue. Couples can marry in a secluded garden setting surrounded by forest, or in the newly built glasshouse-style Sunroom, where floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the garden and the Yarra Ranges.
The grounds include gardens, gazebos, boardwalks and ponds for photos, along with the property's friendly alpacas. Receptions are held in the main building, where high ceilings, natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows and bi-fold doors open onto covered deck areas. Spaces range from the VIP Room for 16 guests and the Function Room to the semi-private Central Area and the Alfresco Area, with its retractable walls and opening roof. Menus include Asian fusion and traditional Chinese options.
The Tea House first opened in June 2011 and has been run by its current operators since April 2017 as a modern Asian fusion restaurant that also hosts weddings and functions. The wedding package runs for five hours, with an hour in a ceremony location directly before a four-hour reception, and couples choose a banquet, plated four-course or cocktail menu.
