A restored 1904 heritage ballroom in Mount Claremont with a 9-metre ceiling, crystal chandeliers and seating for up to 250 wedding guests.
Montgomery Hall is a heritage-listed function venue in Mount Claremont, about 10 km or a 20-minute drive from the Perth CBD. It was built in 1904 as the dining hall and theatre of the neighbouring Claremont hospital, where it hosted plays, dances and concerts, and after the site was bought by Aegis in 2012 it took four years to restore. Today it hosts weddings, corporate events and private functions on one of Mount Claremont's highest points.
Weddings begin with guests gathering in the sheltered reception courtyard before moving into the Grand Ballroom, which seats up to 250 in an uninterrupted space of 27 by 15 metres. The ballroom has a 9-metre ceiling, crystal chandeliers, restored heritage features in white, gold and grey, and the original raked stage framed by a 5.5-metre proscenium arch. Audio-visual equipment, themed house and stage lighting and motorised blackout blinds are built in.
Couples have the Bridal Room with private dressing areas and beauty stations, plus space to relax in the undercroft of the original theatre stage. Catering comes from the venue's partner caterers, Ultimo Catering + Events, Creative Catering and Ginger Pear Graze, who use the fully equipped service kitchen. There are 65 free parking bays, a taxi and Uber drop-off area and wheelchair access on both levels. Compare it with the other Western Australian wedding venues.
